Weighted Lap Animals

The Weighted Lap Animal is specifically made to provide input and stability, thus enabling a child to attend andfocus. Improvements have been noted in reducing rocking behaviours, maintaining 90 degree hip flexion, decreasing leg wrapping around the chair and reducing the incidence of standing during fine motor activities. These critters are best used under the supervision of an occupational therapist or teacher for 20 minutes at a time, or as recommended. Animals are 10” x 6”. Colour may vary.

Why do we use fidgets?

We all fidget while we concentrate. This helps us to stay focused or organized. Most of us fidget with items such as pens and other gadgets. Many of these are not motivating for a child, leading him to fidget with non-appropriate items, which may be distracting to him or to other children/people in the room. Providing a child with a more motivating appropriate fidget will allow him to sit still and stay focused and organized while at school, in the car, waiting for someone or at other non-stimulating times.
